Paediatrics
We care for children with a range of conditions and injuries.
About us
We see children for outpatient appointments and day case procedures, as well as children who need to stay in hospital overnight.
If your child needs unplanned surgery, they’ll have treatment at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
Our children’s ward provides 26 beds, including 12 cubicles separated into bays. This allows patients to be near other children in their age range. We also have high dependency rooms which can accommodate up to 4 patients. The ward provides a comforting environment and includes a safe outdoor play area.
There’s a lounge for older children, complete with computer games and a TV to help children take their mind off being unwell. A parents’ lounge, with tea and coffee making facilities, means that parents can have a break in a quiet space of their own.
Next to our Accident & Emergency department, there’s a dedicated paediatric section providing triage and assessment facilities, with 5 observational and short-stay beds.
