Pathology is a laboratory based service which undertakes testing of patient samples referred from GPs as well as in patient services.
Samples (including blood) can be delivered by hand directly to the following hospitals:
The Phlebotomy reception area will be open between 8.30am - 4pm.
For security reasons samples cannot be left out of hours.

A drop in hatch is available our of hours.

It is divided into the disciplines listed below:
We provide two main areas of diagnosis, cytology and histology, from our Stoke Mandeville and Wycombe sites.
Cytology
This is a cervical screening service provided for all women between the ages of 25 and 64 years, following guidelines as set down by the NHS cervical screening programme.
A diagnostic service is provided for the examination of symptomatic body fluids. This is provided through the GP or clinician.
Histology
This service is provided for GPs and clinicians, diagnosing tissue samples taken at outpatient appointments or during surgery.
Amersham Hospital: the blood test clinic is open from 8.30am - 3pm.
Please note that samples cannot be left out of hours.
Stoke Mandeville Hospital: the blood test clinic is open from 9.15am - 4pm. For the week of 3 September 2018 the clinic will be open until 4pm.
Wycombe Hospital: the blood test clinic has appointments available from 8am - 11am, with open access from 9am - 3.30pm.
