Our Annual BHT Awards

Our Annual BHT Awards recognise and celebrate the achievements and commitment of individuals and teams working for Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.

Our 2024 BHT Awards are now open for entries until 8 July 2024

Awards will be given to colleagues, volunteers, contractors and partners who deliver personal and compassionate care and who Collaborate well with others, Aspire to be the best, Respect everyone as an individual and Enable others to learn and develop.

  • you CAN’T nominate the same person or team in multiple categories, but
  • you CAN nominate as many people or teams as you like in different categories
  • Please avoid using abbreviations or acronyms – as this will help our judges
  • Please make sure you have sufficient time to complete the nomination in one go as you cannot save it as you go and come back to it later. However, you may download a copy of the nomination form, complete it and email it or post it in – details are provided below. 

 

The judges will be looking for detail – so please be specific.

For example, have nominees (individuals or teams) consistently …

  • provided an outstanding service above and beyond what you would expect them to do? Please give specific examples – tell us WHAT they have done.
  • delivered personal and compassionate care? Please tell us HOW they are benefiting our patients, service users or colleagues.
  • demonstrated our Trust CARE values every day?
    Please provide examples of HOW the nominee works Collaboratively, Aspires to improve and be the best, shows great Respect for everyone and Enables others to do more or improve.

  1. The People’s Award for Personal and Compassionate Care

    This very special award recognises those who have made a significant and memorable difference to the lives and experiences of patients and their families in outpatient, inpatient or community settings, during the last 12 months.
    Nominations are accepted from Patients, Carers, Family Members or Friends of the Patient, Or Visitors Or Members of the public ONLY.  The nomination can be for an individual or a team.
    Make your nomination for our People’s Award for personal and compassionate care.

  2. Outstanding Leadership award

    Awarded to an individual. Recognising compassionate leaders who support their team(s) and the objectives of the organisation, consistently role modelling BHT leadership behaviours and our CARE values

  3. Kindness award

    Awarded to an individual or team. Recognising an extraordinary act of kindness for our patients or colleagues or a consistent demonstration of role modelling of positive, compassionate, and kind interactions with our patients or colleagues

  4. Outstanding Acute Care award

    Awarded to an individual or team who have demonstrated consistently high-quality clinical care and patient outcomes in an acute setting

  5. Outstanding Community Care award

    Awarded to an individual or team who have demonstrated consistently high-quality clinical care and patient outcomes in a community setting

  6. Non-clinical service award

    Awarded to an individual or team working within a non-clinical support service that deliver above the expectations of patients or colleagues, delivering a great customer service experience

  7. Improvement award

    Awarded to an individual or team. Recognising any improvement, research project or development in any setting, in particular those with lasting impact or those related to the Trust’s Breakthrough Objectives.

  8. Learning and Education award

    Awarded to an individual or team. This award recognises those who participate in formal and non-formal educational programmes or activities to further clinical and non-clinical practice, promoting knowledge and learning across the organisation

  9. Volunteer of the year award

    Awarded to an individual or team of volunteers who have made a positive contribution to BHT in the last 12 months

  10. Lifetime Contribution award

    Awarded to an individual celebrating the exceptional long-term contribution of a colleague. They will have made a lasting impression, demonstrating a passion for the NHS, and outstanding achievements in their chosen field to date
