Hospital@Home

Hospital at Home provides care that would have taken place in our hospitals to patients in the comfort of their own home.

This includes remote monitoring, face-to-face nursing and therapy for a range of conditions for up to two weeks. This care is provided by hospital-based doctors, nurses, therapists and pharmacists.

Our clinicians may refer you to the Hospital at Home service. This means you could avoid going into hospital in the first place, or return home sooner, while still getting the level of care you need.

Receiving hospital-equivalent care in your own home can help maintain independence, avoid hospital-related complications and can mean recovery is much quicker.

Hospital@Home services

Services that are part of the hospital at home programme include:

• Buckinghamshire Integrated Respiratory Service (BIRS)
• Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT) service – for patients requiring intravenous antibiotics
