Health on the High Street
The first ‘health on the high street’ (HOTH) pilot scheme opened on 26 September 2023 in the heart of Aylesbury within the Friars Square shopping centre.
The high street plays a pivotal role in our communities as the place where people shop, meet and work. ‘Health on the high street’ enables healthcare services to be delivered alongside public health and wellbeing initiatives, as well as social support services in the middle of our local town. It is designed to create an integrated system centred around the needs of our local people and communities.
Health on the hight street can be found in unit 33 in Friars Square shopping centre, Aylesbury. All local residents can access a range of healthcare services and advice.

Safe Place Scheme at Unit 33
Unit 33 Health on the High Street service, in Aylesbury’s Friar Square Shopping Centre, is now a member of the Safe Place Scheme.
The Safe Place Scheme runs in many local towns and there a number of locations across Buckinghamshire. A Safe Place provides help and assistance when needed and can be identified by a Safe Place sticker on the window or door.
If a vulnerable person seeks help, a staff member of the Safe Place will help by making a phone call to someone the vulnerable person trusts or to one of the numbers on an emergency contact list provided to the premises. Staff at a Safe Place will also reassure and keep the vulnerable person safe until the situation was resolved.
