Our Annual BHT Awards recognise and celebrate the achievements and commitment of individuals and teams working for Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.
This year’s awards fall under our three strategic priorities: Outstanding Care, Healthy Communities and Great Place to Work with an additional People’s Award for Personal and Compassionate Care category ,

Our Award Categories:
Our People’s Personal and Compassionate Care Award is open to nominations from patients, services users and their friends and family.
This Award recognises those who have made a significant and memorable difference to the lives and experiences of patients and their families in outpatient, inpatient or community settings, during the last 12 months (April 2022-March 2023).

All the other Awards categories fall under our 3 Trust priorities:
Outstanding Care
For a team that has consistently demonstrated outstanding clinical care in a hospital setting, achieving the highest standards of patient safety and outcomes. This is awarded to a team only.
For a team which has consistently demonstrated outstanding clinical care in a community setting, achieving the highest standards of patient safety and outcomes. This is awarded to a team only.
For an individual or a team working within a non-clinical support service that have worked hard to deliver above the expectations of patients or colleagues, delivering outstanding customer service.
For an individual or team who have directly improved patient care, health outcomes or safety through innovation, research and/or quality improvement initiatives.
Recognises the exceptional long-term contribution of a colleague in their chosen field of work. They will have made a lasting impression, demonstrating a passion for the NHS and demonstrated outstanding achievements during their NHS career to date. A role model and mentor for other colleagues.
Healthy Communities
Recognises an individual or team who have made the greatest contribution to achieving equity or inclusion by improving the accessibility of services and/or experience for patients or colleagues.
Awarded to a volunteer or group of volunteers who have made a significant difference to patients and colleagues.
Great place to work
(Awarded to individuals only) awarded to an energetic and committed leader someone who leads by example, who demonstrates consistent, compassionate and inclusive leadership and who exemplifies the CARE values and behaviours.
(Awarded to individuals only) describes how a colleague’s actions have made a difference to patients or colleagues over the last 12 months (April 2022-March 2023).
(Awarded to individuals only) recognising colleagues who are taking part in clinical and non-clinical sponsored educational and learning programmes e.g. apprenticeships, management/leadership training, masters etc.

Our monthly CARE Values awards
Our monthly CARE Values Awards recognise individuals and teams who go to extraordinary lengths to deliver our CARE Values, ensuring patients get personal and compassionate care, every time. Say thank you by nominating a member of our team for a staff award.
You can nominate:

- a staff member who made a difference when you visited
- someone who deserves recognition
