Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust receives Bronze Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Award
Following the signing of the Armed Forces Covenant in November 2019, the Trust is pleased to announce that it has recently received the Bronze Award under the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS).
The ERS encourages employers to support defence and inspire others to do the same. The scheme encompasses bronze, silver and gold awards for employer organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to defence and the armed forces community, and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant.
As a Bronze Award holder the Trust has undertaken the following commitments:
- Sign the Armed Forces Covenant
- Pledged to support the armed forces, including existing or prospective employees who are members of the community
- Promote being armed forces-friendly and are open to employing reservists, armed forces veterans (including the wounded, injured and sick), cadet instructors and military spouses/partners
Edward Macfarlane, Armed Forces Lead for the Trust said, “I am delighted that the Trust has been awarded the Bronze Award from the ERS. The Armed Forces Covenant ensures employers actively encourage Veterans to join their organisations. It also supports them and brings the excellent skills and experience gained serving for the benefit of the wider community, business and workplace.”
