Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is pleased to announce the appointment of Raghuv Bhasin as Interim Chief Executive Officer, effective from 6 October 2025. This follows the announcement of current Chief Executive Neil Macdonald’s departure to take on the role of CEO at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust.

David Highton, Chair of Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, said:

“Raghuv has served as the Trust’s Chief Operating Officer since March 2022 and during that time has demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to our patients, staff and partners. His deep understanding of our organisation and his experience across the NHS and Civil Service make him ideally placed to lead us as we embark on our new strategy for 2025-2035.”

Raghuv brings a wealth of experience from across the NHS and Civil Service. Prior to joining the Trust, he was Director of Strategic Partnerships at Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he was seconded to NHS Test and Trace as Chief of Staff and served on its Executive Committee and prior to that a Senior Civil Servant at the Department of Health and Social Care.

Commenting on his appointment Raghuv said, “I am delighted to be appointed as interim CEO of BHT following in the footsteps of Neil who has been a terrific Chief Executive and leaves big shoes to fill. We have a great team in Bucks and exciting new strategy and I am looking forward to working with our partners in Buckinghamshire to deliver improvements in care for our residents.”

Raghuv lives in Beaconsfield with his wife and two young children.
