National audit of care at the end of life bereavement survey
Each year our end of life care team takes part in the National Audit of Care at the End of Life (NACEL). This national audit looks at the care experienced by the dying person and those important to them during their last hospital admission.
Part of this audit is a Bereavement Survey, this is a survey for the friends and family of someone who died in hospital. The aim of the survey is to give those close to the person who died an opportunity to share their views on the care and support provided in hospital.
Anyone who has lost a loved one since 1 January 2025 is invited to take part in this anonymous survey about the care received by you and your loved one during their hospital admission.
Our lead nurse for Palliative and End of Life Care, Liz Monaghan, is keen to encourage recently bereaved relatives to take up the opportunity to provide their feedback. The more families who share their experiences via this survey, the more information the team will have to help direct future improvements to the end of life care we provide.
Further information about this year’s survey is available in a Bereavement survey leaflet, or you can access the survey directly.
