The results of the 2023/24 annual NHS national staff survey are published today, Thursday 7 March 2024.

More than 4,000 of Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust’s colleagues (61%) took part in the survey – the highest ever response rate and well above the national average (45%).

Bridget O’Kelly, Chief People Officer for the Trust, said:

“Feedback from the staff survey tells us where we are getting it right and what matters to our colleagues, with the Trust scoring highly in every element of the NHS People Promise.

I’m particularly proud that colleagues are telling us we’re looking after their health and wellbeing. The Trust scored 70% for supporting the health and wellbeing of its employees, significantly better than the national average of 57% – which makes us 4th best in the country when compared to 122 similar trusts.

It’s also important that they feel recognised for the work they do and that they feel part of a team. Colleagues clearly appreciate the range of learning opportunities and support we provide to help them achieve their career ambitions.

I am delighted to see the overall improvements we’ve made for the third year in a row, which includes being among the top 25% of similar trusts in the country for staff engagement. We will continue to make improvements so that Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is a great place to work for all colleagues.”
