Large crane on site at Stoke Mandeville Hospital 27-29 October

Date: 26/10/2023 | Category: News 2023

A large crane is being brought on site at Stoke Mandeville Hospital over the weekend of Friday 27 to Sunday 29 October 2023. The crane is being used to lift essential equipment for our radiology service into position.

While the crane is on site there will be no access to some areas, including:

  • The road on the hospital site that leads straight on from the first roundabout to the main front entrance of the hospital – this route will not be accessible for vehicles or pedestrians.
  • You will not be able to access the hospital via main entrance doors – the nearest alternative entrance via the covered walkway leading from car park B will be sign-posted.
  • Car park A will be unavailable as will the National Spinal Injuries Centre car park.

There will be limited access for those who wish to enter via the National Spinal Injuries Centre – this entrance will be controlled by contractors to ensure public safety.

In addition, getting the crane on site on Friday and off site on Sunday may cause some disruption to local traffic.

We hope to keep any disruption to an absolute minimum and apologise in advance for any inconvenience this work may cause.
