New staff areas revitalise colleagues at Marlow Community Hospital
The Trust held an official opening on 22 February for newly refurbished areas at Marlow Community Hospital, to celebrate the brilliant work colleagues there do caring for the local community.
Funded by Marlow Hospital League of Friends and the Trust, there is a new patient kitchen and a brand-new kitchen and recreation area for teams who work at the hospital, giving them the opportunity switch off and relax in between seeing patients.
Jenny Ricketts, Director of Community Transformation at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust said: “Colleagues have already been around to tell me how great the new staff areas are and how much they appreciate these modernised spaces to unwind in when they can. We know that healthy, happy staff directly correlates to better patient care, so thank you to the amazing generosity and fundraising efforts of our Marlow Hospital League of Friends. This could not have happened without the support of our local community.”
Patrick Land, Marlow Hospital League of Friends said: “The last few years have been hugely challenging for front-line NHS staff so we were very pleased to have the opportunity to provide improved facilities for them at Marlow Hospital. We hope to be able to work with the Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust on further developments in the provision of healthcare at local level for the benefit of the people of Marlow. Marlow Hospital League of Friends is a local charity funded by donations, legacies and the like for the benefit of Marlow Hospital.”
