Badger Notes: Your pregnancy care record
Download the app via:
What you’ll need:
- The passphrase given to you by your midwife over the telephone
- Your mobile phone to receive your verification text
We do not advise using the NHS log in option as it is known to cause issues with the verification process.
Used Badger Notes or Maternity Notes in the past?
You will need to add your new care record to your existing account. If you already have a standard Badger Notes account, you need to keep using that and not NHS login.
- Log in using your existing password
- Pull out the profile menu
- Select ‘Add a care record’
Pre-booking questionnaire
Once you have access to Badger Notes, before your first booking appointment, you will have the opportunity to complete a pre-booking questionnaire. This will ask you different questions about your medical history.
If possible please complete the questionnaire ahead of attending your first appointment.
Care plans
Your app will show you a week-by-week timeline of your pregnancy.
This will help to:
- Learn about your baby’s development
- Access reading recommended by your midwife
- Learn about events likely to happen this week
- View your booked appointments
- Write a personal diary entry and add a photo
Maternity Record View
This extracts information direct from your medical record for you to view.
You will also be able to view:
- The members of your care team
- Watch the ‘Antenatal care summary’ report grow into a chronological record of some of your key pregnancy events
Conversations
You can use this section to submit your thoughts and questions about your antenatal care, birth plan and postnatal care to your midwife – they will review this with you at your next scheduled visit.
Please do not use this section for anything that requires urgent attention.
Leaflets
Here you will be able to view the hospital’s full library of pregnancy leaflets. The links will direct you back to our Trust website, where you can translate the leaflets into a language of your choice.
Appointments
You will have access to view what upcoming appointments you have within the Badger Notes app. This will include any consultant and midwifery appointments. Your scan appointments will still be sent to you via a letter in the post, so please keep hold of them!
Why Badger Notes?
The Maternity Department is going digital – this will mean there will not be any documentation in your hand held record, apart from your scan reports.
Badger Notes will include everything you need to know about your pregnancy at your fingertips!
If you decide you do not wish to access Badger Notes, please speak to your Midwife.
Troubleshooting
Should you have any problems with your Badger Notes account check out the FAQs or contact the digital team bht.digitalmidwives@nhs.net.
