I/My baby needs urgent care
If you’re worried about you or your baby during any time during your pregnancy, contact us immediately.
Call us on labour ward triage phone (01296 316103). We’ll talk to you about the type of pain you have and tell you the best place for you to be seen.
For example, this may be with your GP if we suspect a urine infection, or a non-pregnancy related problem
If we think your pain may be related to your pregnancy, we’ll tell you to come into hospital.

This can be very mild to intense or persistent and spread to your arms and legs. It may feel worse at night.
We’ll need to check for obstetric cholestasis which is a liver condition that can happen during pregnancy. It gets better when your baby is born but we’ll need to monitor you both.
To diagnose obstetric cholestasis, we’ll need to do some blood tests which your community midwife or day assessment unit can do.
