Occupational Therapy virtual advice sessions
We have opened virtual advice session to ensure that parents, carers and those working in educational settings receive Occupational Therapy advice when it is needed.
Virtual advice sessions can be accessed via Microsoft Team or by telephone appointment. Please state your preference when booking an appointment.
We will send you a link to join an online virtual advice session meeting via email. No software download is required and you can access the session via a computer or smart phone.
Appointments will last 45 minutes.
If it is felt that your child requires further assessment following an advice line session, they will automatically be put forward for a face to face assessment.
Advice lines can be accessed as frequently as required to support with ongoing goal setting and progression of therapy programmes/support.
Our advice sessions
Parents and guardians who would like to have a discussion about the child or young person they have parental responsibility for are welcome to contact us to book an appointment.
Where possible, we recommend that parents and staff from the educational setting join the same virtual call to share information. An email for the same meeting will be sent to all wanting to attend. Please inform our admin team if you wish for a link to be sent to the educational setting.
A written summary of the session will be provided to the parents/guardians, and any other parties requested.

Nurseries, child minders and schools must request a virtual advice session via theĀ OT Child Specific Advice Session Referral Form . Please email the form to us and title the email subject āOT Virtual Advice Sessionā.
You will need to ensure you have consent from the child/young persons parents/guardians prior to the session. Parents will be sent a copy of information discussed at the session and it will be documented in their clinical records.
These sessions help staff to support children with universal occupational therapy needs within your setting.Ā This may be topics such as how to develop a fine motor group, how to implement sensory circuits, further clarification on topics covered in our webinars.
Children will remain anonymous.
If you have concerns about a specific child and you do not have parental consent, our Occupational Therapist can discuss them with you anonymously.Ā Please note if children are discussed anonymously there will be no record in their clinical records of the conversation for purposes of future EHCP applications.
