Children Looked After (CLA) health team
The Children Looked After (CLA) health team is a multi-disciplinary service made up of nurses and other healthcare professionals.
What we do
We deliver direct clinical contact, advice and support for looked after children, their carers and social workers to address health issues unique to this group of children and young people.
We work closely in partnership with social care and education services to help looked after children remain healthy both physically and emotionally. We arrange, co-ordinate and undertake Statutory Health Assessments in accordance with Department of Health Statutory Guidance.
We provide information on topics such as healthy eating, dental care, alcohol or substance misuse, sexual health, healthy lifestyles, smoking, safe relationships and emotional wellbeing.
