We offer a wide range of services including:

Child development team

The OT (occupational therapy) service participates fully within the multidisciplinary child development teams based with the community paediatricians. This service provides integrated support for children under 5 years old with complex needs.

OTs visit children in schools or early years settings to address identified functional issues. This could be following a referral or through our OT school advice clinics. These clinics are available to all mainstream schools in Buckinghamshire and allow termly visits by their allocated link therapist.

We also offer training sessions to schools on:

  • the use of our resource packs
  • handwriting
  • understanding sensory techniques and the 'Alert Principle'
  • help and tips for enhancing gross and fine motor skills.

Equipment provision

OTs can visit children and young people at home to assess and provide equipment for functional difficulties. Such as:

  • specialist seating (excluding wheelchairs which are provided by the Wheelchair Service)
  • sleep systems
  • mobile hoists
  • slings
  • specialist toileting and bathing equipment
  • profiling beds

We work closely with the social care team to ensure the needs of the child or young person are met, this may include referrals to their team for housing adaptations.

Should you require information regarding the general organisation of our service and how to complete our referral form, please see the About us section.

SENDCo Survey

As an integrated service we are reviewing our Occupational Therapy School Advice Clinics and Speech and Language Therapy Link Meetings and would really value your opinions and feedback in order to make changes and improvements. The survey can be found by clicking on the link below and should only take approximately 10 minutes of your time. Please note this survey is for SENDCos ONLY.
