NHS Staff Survey shows Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is a great place to work and one of the top 25% of trusts in the country
The results of the 2024/25 annual NHS national staff survey have been published today, Thursday 13 March 2025. The survey is one of the largest workforce surveys in the world and is carried out every year across the NHS. It aims to support NHS organisations to improve staff experience and staff wellbeing.
More than 4,500 of Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust’s colleagues (65%) took part in the survey – the organisation’s highest ever response rate and well above the national average (49%) for similar trusts*1.
Bridget O’Kelly, Chief People Officer for the Trust, said:
“I am delighted that this year we had our highest ever response rate, this gives us the confidence that the views we are hearing reflect the opinions of the majority of colleagues who work for the Trust.
For the third year in a row, we are in the top 25% of similar trusts*2 for each of the key themes of the survey, known as the NHS People Promise.
We’re also in the top 25% of trusts*3 specifically for staff engagement and morale and for having a workforce committed to providing quality care for our patients and service users.
In addition, our colleagues have told us that they appreciate the changes we’ve made to enable more flexible ways of working and taking a team approach, with the Trust in the top 10%*4 in these areas of the survey, and I am proud that we are now ranked 2nd in the country*5 for taking action on colleagues’ health and wellbeing.
Overall, this is a great set of results, reflecting the focus over a number of years on our colleagues’ experiences at work. We will continue to embed our achievements to date, as well as targeting the areas where the feedback shows we need to improve to make sure Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust continues to be a great place to work for all our colleagues.”
