The Alison Heffernan Award celebrates excellence in maternity services and joint winners, Lilith Feasey and Amy Morris, were voted for by women and families who have had a baby under the care of the Trust in the last year.

Lilith Feasey, Triage Midwife, was nominated for the connection she quickly builds with her patients and ensuring the mum-to-be felt safe, relaxed and supported.

Lilith’s nominator said: “My daughter is named after her because she is honestly the most kind and caring midwife I have ever met! Words honestly can’t describe how brilliant Lilith has been, she is an absolute asset to the trust. As a family we really appreciate all her support so thank you Lilith.”

Amy Morris, Named Teenage Pregnancy Midwife, was nominated by a young mum who she supported during her pregnancy and post birth. Her nomination demonstrated the impact that the Teenage Pregnancy Midwives have on young mums. This is a growing area of midwifery practice and Amy is providing care, support and understanding to these vulnerable young women.

Michelle East, Director of Midwifery at the Trust said: “It’s wonderful to see Lilith and Amy being recognised for their commitment to delivering outstanding, personal and compassionate care to women and their families.”

The awards were set up in memory of the late Alison Heffernan, Chair of the Maternity Services Liaison Committee which is now the Bucks Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership (Bucks MNVP).
