We provide a comprehensive range of services, including providing medicines to inpatients and outpatients via our dispensaries and our ward clinical pharmacy service.
We also provide a specialist dispensing aseptic service to the wards and cancer patients.
A medicines information service is available for patients, as well as doctors and nurses, for advice on the technical aspects of best use of medicines.
We run a medicines helpline to provide information about medicines to patients who have recently had a prescription dispensed by one of the Trust’s pharmacies. Calls are answered by pharmacy staff who are skilled and experienced in locating, assessing and interpreting information about medicines. Together with their own clinical knowledge, the team have access to a wide range of information resources including textbooks, journals, online databases and specialist advice. Typical enquiries answered by the team include how to take your medicines, dosage, side effects of medicines, and drug in pregnancy and breast feeding. Patients can contact the medicines helpline team by phoning 01494 425355, Monday to Friday between 12-5 pm.
