The regional maxillofacial service is based at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, with out patient services and day case general anaesthetic operating in Buckinghamshire.
The Buckinghamshire service is based at Stoke Mandeville and Amersham hospitals, with day case operating undertaken at Stoke Mandeville.
A comprehensive local anaesthetic and intravenous sedation service is provided at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
Dento-alveolar surgery eg removal of wisdom teeth and other complex extractions under local anaesthetic, is the mainstay of our work locally, along with soft tissue disease of the oral cavity. Soft tissue problems are also dealt with on a “one stop” basis
Senior staff members also have special interests in facial pain, head and neck oncology, facial deformity, craniofacial surgery, jaw joint problems and apical surgery
A comprehensive facial and craniofacial trauma service is provided by the Oxford team, along with all in-patient general anaesthetic operating.
