The Research Unit in the Dermatology Department at Amersham Hospital is funded by the Amerderm Research Trust (Charity No. 1114684) and has the objective of furthering our understanding of dermatological diseases and cancer. Having both a well equipped histopathology laboratory and a clinical facility, we are able to carry out basic research and provide support for the NHS Mohs surgery service. Much of our current research work is centered on developing new ways of detecting skin cancer at an early stage in its development, thus increasing the chances of a complete recovery.
