At Wycombe Hospital Day Nursery we provide high quality childcare to children of NHS staff and the local community. We are registered for 47 children between the ages of 3 months to five years and all our staff hold relevant childcare qualifications.
We recognise that all our children are individuals and activities are tailored to their own personal interests and needs. We have three rooms at Wycombe Nursery: Explorers, Discoverers and Big Inventors. Children move to the next room when they are developmentally ready, rather than by age, with the aim being that when they leave us they are ready for the transition to school. Before children start at nursery, or move to a new room, they will have a number of settling-in visits to familiarise themselves with their new surroundings and get to know the staff and other children.
The routine for our younger children in Explorers mirrors that of home so is flexible to allow sleep and feed times to suit them. As our children grow they begin to adapt to the room’s routine and by the time they start in Discoverers all are eating, sleeping and playing at the same time.
All our rooms are spacious, bright and airy. The children have a separate dining room and the younger children have their own sleep room. We are fortunate to have enough space for all our children to play together during the day which encourages our younger children to learn from the older ones who, in turn, learn to help and care for their younger friends.
