Children and young people’s community services are part of the Division of Women and Children and consist of a wide range of services for children in the community, providing comprehensive support for children, young people and their families. All community children and young people community staff work very closely with partner agencies, in particular, social care and education, to ensure the needs of the child/young person are met.
The Obstetrics & Gynaecology SDU consists of both community and hospital based staff, with facilities at Stoke Mandeville and Wycombe Hospitals. The medical team comprises 14 consultants, 2 career grade doctors and junior doctors including both specialist and GP trainees.
The service is a consultant delivered acute service with a neonatologist of the week (NOW) and also a paediatrician of the week (POW) for the general paediatric acute admissions. During these weeks all other clinical commitments for the week are cancelled and all acute paediatricians participate in this rota.
Outpatient services are provided at Wycombe, Amersham and Stoke Mandeville Hospitals.
All the Paediatric consultants also have specialist interests in other paediatric sub specialties. These are listed below. We work closely with Paediatric consultants based at Oxford and hold joint clinics ensuring that specialist services can be delivered locally for our patients.
