Outpatient services:
There are 14 separate consultant led clinics running throughout the year to enable patients to access these services more locally. Specialities include: general surgery, neurology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, paediatrics, ENT, pain, plastics, rheumatology, urology and vascular.
We also provide a gynaecology service.
Phlebotomy clinics (blood tests) are held on Mondays and Tuesdays, between 8.45am and 11.30am. To make an appointment for a blood test, call 01494 419230 between 10am and 1pm, Monday to Friday.
Warfarin clinics are held on Tuesdays by appointment and enable patients to be tested and have their dosage confirmed during the one appointment.
Specialist nurses provide clinics including heart failure, smoking cessation, diabetes and continence advice.
A sexual health clinic runs weekly on Wednesday evenings by appointment.
Musculoskeletal and neurological conditions physiotherapy service
Provides an outpatient service Mondays – Fridays at varying times between the hours of 8am and 6pm. Access to the physiotherapy outpatient service is via GP referral. Physiotherapists are experts in rehabilitation, helping people return to their normal activities after illness and injury, and can advise on building easy, effective exercise into your daily routine. Also provided within this department is a
womens’ health and post natal continence service.
X-ray
The x-ray service is by appointment via GP or by consultant referral during a consultant appointment. The x-ray department is open:
Hearing aid support
Hearing aid batteries and ancillary tubing is available from the main hospital reception so that local patients can have local access to these products.
