Congratulations to a team of antimicrobial pharmacists from the Trust whose participation in a Commonwealth Partnership for Antimicrobial Stewardship project, in conjunction with Nottingham Trent University and Makerere University, Uganda was recognised at the Antimicrobial Guardian Awards 2020. The 18 month project aimed to raise awareness of antimicrobial resistance in Wakiso District, Uganda through education and training delivered to healthcare practitioners, community health workers and school children using a One-Health approach.
The awards which took place online on 26 November, champions organisations and individuals who have demonstrated achievements in tackling antimicrobial resistance at a local, regional, national or global level.
Special congratulations to Trust antimicrobial pharmacist, Bee Yean Ng, who won the prestigious Das Pillay Antimicrobial Stewardship Memorial Award.
The Commonwealth Partnership for Antimicrobial Stewardship team was shortlisted for a total of 6 award categories. In addition, to Bee’s recognition the health partnership also achieved the following results:
