We are pleased to announce that, after working closely with UKPC and their debt recovery company, both companies have agreed to cancel those unpaid parking fines which have progressed to debt recovery, at zero cost to the Trust and the individuals involved.
This applies to people who:
Some people may still be receiving letters from the debt recovery company that were sent before this agreement was reached. Please do not ignore the letter. If you do, they will proceed with court action as the company cannot tell whether you work for the Trust or not.
N.B. Emails about this sent to property services after 28 February will not be forwarded to the debt company, so you must contact the debt recovery company directly. However, should you have any issues in resolving this with the debt recovery company, please get in touch with the property services team via bht.propertyservicesmgtteam@nhs.net
Parking at the Trust has been free for all colleagues throughout the pandemic and remains so.
Trust CEO Neil Macdonald said: “In January, we were made aware that a number of our colleagues had received letters regarding unpaid, historic parking fines. This action was never instigated by the Trust. UKPC has not been contracted to provide our parking services since April 2020. We understand how much upset this is causing, especially when our people are still working tirelessly to look after patients during the pandemic, which is why we are pleased to have come to this positive agreement with the two companies involved.”
