Your experience as a patient, or your views as a member of the public, who might need to access our services is important to us. That's why we have developed a Patient Experience Group (PEG).
The purpose of the group is to enable mutual engagement with a range of patients / service users / carers and members of the public, resulting in a sharing of information, views and perspectives that aims to improve patient care, informs service improvement, design and development within the Trust.
Aims to work in partnership to oversee relevant change across Trust services, as a result of learning from patients experience and feedback.
PEG members are representatives of local community and hospital user groups.
The PEG meets every two months for two hours and is currently chaired by the chief nurse and director of patient care standards.
If you are a member of a community group or a hospital user group and you would like further information about joining us, please don’t hesitate to contact the Patient advice and liaison service in the first instance. Please telephone (01296) 316042 or email pals@buckshosp.nhs.uk. Alternatively write to the patient services manager, Amersham Hospital.
The rationale for patient, public and user involvement is that it is a pre-requisite for developing patient centred services (Tritter et al 2003).

"The development of services should be patient centred and should take account of patients, families and carers views and preferences as well as those of the professionals involved in their care and members of the public. Individuals needs and perceptions may differ from those of the professionals. Good communication and accountability between professionals, patients and their carers is especially important."
