Chaplaincy team

Who are we?

We provide spiritual and religious care to patients, their relatives and members of staff. Our multi-denominational team visit most wards on a weekly basis.

What about other faiths or atheists?

We are here for people of all faiths, religions or philosophies of life. If you prefer, we can contact another faith leader on your behalf.

What do we do?

• we listen to what you have to say in a supportive and confidential way. We don’t judge or come with ready-made answers
• we will do our best to help you explore questions that may have arisen since you came into hospital, like “Why has this happened to me?”. You may also have questions about coping with the end of life, about its meaning or about God
• we offer prayers, blessing, holy communion at the bedside and hearing of confession to anyone who wishes.

Where to find us?

The prayer room is based on the first floor of Wendover Wing (above the main reception and rotunda restaurant).

We provide relevant books, symbols and signs to meet the needs of different religions.

Christian worship: 
Sundays, 10.30am - 11.00am
Wednesdays, 9.30am - 10.00am

Muslim prayer:  
Daily, 1.15pm
