Changes to our service!

There have recently been some changes nationally with how your health visiting service is organised. The service is now commissioned by the local authority rather than by NHS England. This means that you may now have a new health visiting team, depending on where you pay your council tax.

This could therefore affect families living on Buckinghamshire county borders with Oxfordhire, Northamptonshire, Milton Keynes, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Hillingdon or Berkshire.

Your new health visiting team will be in touch with you, but if you would like to confirm whether or not you are affected by the changes, or have any queries in relation to your child’s health or development, please contact us.

Health visitors are qualified registered nurses who have undertaken further training to a degree level in child health, public health and health promotion.  Our health visiting teams comprise of health visitors, registered nurses, nursery nurses and team administrators.

Every family with a child under five years old has access to the health visiting team.  We offer free universal support either face to face or via telephone according to the Department of Health’s Healthy Child Programme.

We work in the community, in children’s centres and in families’ own homes to promote health and wellbeing and to support families with all aspects of bringing up a child.
