The Trust first achieved accreditation in December 2005. In April 2012 we underwent joint evaluation to retain our IIP accreditation and to gain the Health and Wellbeing Good Practice Award. The Trust met all of the standards set.
The Trust will be seeking re-accreditation in 2015.

The NHS Knowledge and Skills Framework (KSF) is a development tool and supports our appraisal process. The Trust has onsite nurseries at Amersham, Wycombe and Stoke Mandeville hospitals which support working parents in achieving a positive work life balance.
Both nurseries at Amersham and Wycombe hospitals are managed in-house and Willows Nursery at Stoke Mandeville is operated by Childbase Nurseries and can be accessed by Trust staff. Each nursery caters for children from three months to school age on a full or part-time basis. All provisions are registered under the Children Act and provide good quality child care. The day nurseries are registered to accept 3 and 4 year-olds government funding, for education places and are inspected by OFSTED.

The Trust recognises the contribution and achievements of our staff through our annual long service tea parties for staff who have achieved 25+ years of NHS service.
Staff who retire from the Trust after 15+ years of service receive voucher upon retirement.
In addition, for the last eight years we has hosted an annual gala awards night. All staff are eligible to participate (including volunteers and contractors). Nominations are made for each award and finalists and nominators are invited to attend a gala evening hosted by a local celebrity.
The Trust is committed to developing a culture of lifelong learning and establishing itself as a learning organisation. All new staff attend our Corporate Induction Programme which introduces them to the Trust and essential topics such as Health and Safety, Infection Control, Fire Safety, Manual Handling, and Equality and Diversity. Staff have access to a wide variety of training programmes designed to support their development, covering a range of personal and clinical skills. We are continuing to expand access to training by increasing our current range of e-learning packages and developing flexible programmes that respect the varying working patterns of our staff.
The Trust has entered into recognition Agreements with Trade Unions and its negotiating sub-committees. Monthly meetings allow consultation between staff side and management. Employees are welcome to join a Trade Union.The Trust works in partnership with our union/staff side colleagues to resolve workplace issues.
Each year the Trust holds a Valuing Staff Day on each hospital site. This is open to all staff, who are welcome to come along and enjoy complimentary therapy tasters sessions and access a wide range of information on various subjects, including the governments HomeBuy scheme, occupational health, advice from dieticians etc. In recent years and as a result of staff feedback we have extended the variety of therapies and invited local stall holders and retailers to attend.
The Trust, in partnership with St. Mary’s C of E School in Old Amersham, offers a breakfast club/after school club and holiday play scheme for staff to access, which is managed and run by Trust nursery staff.
