Patients and visitors travelling between Wycombe, Stoke Mandeville and Amersham hospital sites, are entitled to free travel using our shuttle bus service, which is now provided in partnership with Arriva buses.
All patients and visitors need to do is to collect their free single-use travel tickets from either the main receptions at Stoke Mandeville and Wycombe Hospitals or the cashiers office at Amersham Hospital, showing their appointment letter or, if visiting a relative, giving details of the patient and ward they are visiting.
Ian Garlington, director of property services at the Trust, said: “We are delighted that we can support patients and visitors to travel for free between our main hospital sites.
“Not only will patients and visitors receive free travel, but will see significant changes in quality of the service with more drop-off points, improved timetables, better vehicles and increased capacity,” he said.
Free travel is only applicable on the following inter-hospital services:
• Service H1 (for Wycombe Hospital) - designated boarding points - Wycombe bus station and Queen Alexandra Road, High Wycombe
• Services 52/62 (for Amersham Hospital) - designated boarding points - Whielden Street, Amersham (westbound) and High Wycombe bus station
• Service 55 (for Stoke Mandeville and Amersham hospitals) - designated boarding points - Stoke Mandeville Hospital (southbound only) and Whielden Street, Amersham
• Service 72 (for Wycombe and Amersham hospitals) - designated boarding points - Whielden Street, Amersham, Wycombe bus station and Queen Alexandra Road
• Service 300 (for Stoke Mandeville and Wycombe hospitals) - designated boarding points - Stoke Mandeville Hospital (southbound only) and High Wycombe bus station

In addition, there are a number of other ways patients can access help with hospital travel, these include using community transport schemes operating across Buckinghamshire, such as Dial-a-ride and the Bucks Rural Transport Partnership. Your GP or hospital consultant should also be able to give you help and advice on hospital travel.
Full details of these schemes and other travel options, including additional help with travel costs, are available from the Buckinghamshire Healthcare website at: www.buckshealthcare.nhs.uk/patients-and-visitors.htm
